Calling all Mini-Makers! Come and make an awesome wooden character or a scrappy races car.

What is a Mini-Maker Workshop?
A mini-maker workshop is a fun 1.5 hour maker session for kids age 5+ in Ash & Co's proper woodworking workshop in Crondall.

Under the current regulations, there will only have five 'bubble' bench spaces available per session. These will be spaced out across the workshop, i.e either end of a 2m workbench. Each bench space is for one mini-maker (£24.95) or two mini-makers (£39.95) with one supervising adult.

On arrival, mini-makers will be shown to their workbench space and will choose which project they would like to make – either a wooden character or scrappy races style car.

They will select their core components from a large range of block types that will form the base of their build. In their bench space will be all the tools, accessories, extra scrap wood, fabric, wood curls etc they need to make their character or car totally unique. We can’t wait to see their marvellous creations!

Suitable for children aged 5 and up, these sessions are a fun creative activity that will teach your children hands-on woodworking skills in a safe environment.

Children will learn new skills including how to use basic hand tools, plan out a project, sand wood and connect pieces together using dowels or glue. They will leave with a huge sense of pride and a fantastic imaginative creation built with their own hands. 

Jonty's warm welcome always makes everyone feel at home in the workshop and he will be on hand to offer tuition and advice throughout the session.

Please note: every bubble bench space must have a supervising adult. This is because Jonty will be running the class from a 1 - 2m distance and whilst he will be assisting, he won’t be working closely with the children.  

People who have enjoyed these sessions before know that this is not your average craft activity! We believe children should have a chance to experience proper woodwork and they will be provided with tools, un-sanded wood, super glue  (and gloves!) etc so must be properly supervised. If you do not have a supervising adult for each bench space you have booked you will not be able to take part in the workshop.
